Bruce Feldman Leaves ESPN

Bruce Feldman has left the Mothership.

The college football reporter spent the last 17 years working for ESPN. He’s become one of the best in the business, always full of juicy details on the inner-workings of the college game.

He’s written a couple fantastic books during that time. ‘Cane Mutiny details the bad-boy Miami Hurricane teams. Meat Market chronicles college football recruiting. Last month, he came out with his third book which he co-authored with former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach.

Swing Your Sword got Feldman into trouble with his bosses at ESPN. The book was Leach’s response to the events which cost him his job at Tech after the 2009 season. At issue was the treatment of Adam James, son of ESPN analyst Craig James’ son.

Last month ESPN suspended Feldman for his participation in the project. The news caused an uproar in the blogosphere, as many thought the Mothership was stifling a good reporter to protect the image of one of its premier analysts.

Today Feldman jumped ship and will now work for CBS Sports. He recounts his turbulent summer with Dan Patrick.
